Here you will find a description of the signs of stress and how to use natural stress relief techniques by an expert with 20 years experience in treating patients.
What is stress?
Stress is a very subjective experience and can be hard to describe. But when you’re stressed out, you know it. You might describe yourself as “Wound Up” with “Tension” or as one patient told me “I’m about to pop!”
Maybe your shoulders or your neck get tight. You might have trouble calming your thoughts. Your breath can feel constricted. Perhaps falling asleep is difficult because of racing thoughts or tension.
Stressful feelings contribute to a wide range of diseases and symptoms. In fact, in the last decade we’ve learned that your emotions and feelings may be one of the most important factors in determining whether you become ill or stay vibrantly healthy. Even the most serious diseases–like cancer and heart disease–are now thought to have an emotional component.
So, this is important stuff, life-saving even.
When you feel good, happy, vibrant, your body actually produces chemicals–medicines–that make your body healthy. When you’re stressed out, your body produces chemicals that produce inflammation and make you more vulnerable to illness.
I suspect you already know what your signs of stress are (and they’re different for everyone). If you have any of the following symptoms (and your doctor has already checked you out for something more serious) think of them as a call to action. It’s time to explore natural stress relief.
