Question from reader: I’m wondering if acupuncture could help my brother who has Crohn’s disease? Does acupuncture work for Crohn’s Disease?
Answer: I have treated many patients with Crohn’s that have improved with acupuncture treatment. I recommend the Specific Carbohydrate Diet for my Crohn’s patients and coach them on how to transition to this new way of thinking about eating. This diet together with acupuncture often puts people into remission in my experience.
A recent study at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine showed that Crohn’s patients receiving acupuncture and moxabustion reduced fibrosis compared to a control group who did not receive treatment. The study was publshed in the Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science. Click here to post comments Join in and write your own page! It’s easy to do. How?
