Acupuncture for Smoking Cessation

Thousands of patients have had success in using acupuncture for smoking cessation. There's no reason you can't count yourself among them!

If you want to use acupuncture to help you stop smoking, there is a simple five-needle auricular (ear acupuncture) detox protocol that we use in our practice, and is used by many acupuncturists around the country. This means that you don't have to go through the full diagnostic and evaluation process and we can give you a discount on services.

This acupuncture for smoking cessation protocol is the same one I used while working in the Baltimore prison treating women recovering from heroin addiction, so I think it will work great for you too! It is a very powerful program and really helps with the withdrawal symptoms and cravings you get in the first few weeks of overcoming your addiction to smoking.

These detox needles treat the Lung, Liver, Kidney and the nervous system to help drain the toxins and promote circulation and detoxification. They will help calm you down and help you sleep better. The treatment will help you eliminate nicotine and other toxins from your system with fewer side effects.

Usually I recommend you come in the first day that you stop smoking and three times a week for the next two weeks. Some people need to come in a third week because they are not done with the withdrawal process. It's really that simple.

When you are done with the two or three week treatment, you are generally through the physical withdrawal phase of quitting smoking. But the one thing acupuncture cannot do is give you the desire, determination and dedication to stop smoking. It also can't fill the hole in your life that stopping smoking sometimes leaves. So it's up to you to develop new behaviors and habits once you've kicked the physical addiction.
